About me

Hi! I’m Samrat (‘Sam’), originally from Bangladesh. I currently work at Walmart Global Tech as Staff Data Scientist with the Real Estate, Energy and Manufacturing Applied AI group under the U.S. Omni Platforms & Tech org. I received my Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville on 2020, and completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on 2014.

I’ve 10+ years of combined multi-disciplinary experience in industry and academy as a data scientist with hands-on skills in sequential analysis, statistical signal processing, machine learning, optimization, reinforcement learning, and deep learning. My effective project management, innovative idea generation, strong communication skills, and research oriented mindset has led to 1 US Patent, 6 journals, 10 conference proceedings, and 1 book chapter.

I like travelling, cooking, binge-watching tv shows and animes, playing RPGs. I love football (soccer) and I’m a huge fan of Manchester United (GGMU).
